Description Matthias Clasen 2006-07-07 14:17:54 UTC
it should be larger, and ideally resizable. I kind of think that every window
that contains a scrolled window needs to be resizable so that the user has a chance to enlarge the area and make the scrollbars go away. Denying him that is just teasing...
Comment 1 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2006-07-08 09:26:40 UTC
the window resizes itself when receiving the definitions from the dictionary source. if it doesn't, it's a bug (I've received notifications of that, but I can't get it to reproduce either with the stable or HEAD versions).

I can't make the definitions text reflow with the dialog, unless I remove the formatting done by the dictionary, which would be a refression for some.
Comment 2 Matthias Clasen 2006-07-19 19:58:46 UTC
How about making the window resizable ?
Comment 3 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2006-07-19 20:09:09 UTC
it's a docked window: it's not meant to be resized by the user in the same way that the clock applet window with calendar + tasks is not meant to be resized by the user, or like the drawer applet is meant to resize itself when the icon size changes.
Comment 4 Matthias Clasen 2006-07-19 20:13:14 UTC
I claim that it would be useful to make this docked window behave differently
that the clock window, if only to give the user a way out if things go wrong,
like in the attached screenshot

Comment 6 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2006-07-19 20:34:13 UTC
that is the bug that I was referring to. it seems that I cannot reproduce it in any way, searching through various dictionaries.
Comment 7 Emmanuele Bassi (:ebassi) 2006-07-20 22:47:47 UTC
it seems that I've been successful to reproduce the bug. it happens if the window is exposed before there's a definition, so it means that the resizing function is not called after that.

I'll fix this ASAP.
