Description Ed Catmur 2006-07-07 05:36:05 UTC
I was playing music off my iPod through Rhythmbox. I paused Rhythmbox and unplugged the iPod, left it for a few minutes, returned, plugged the iPod back in, and resumed playback. A few seconds (in the GStreamer cache?) played, but then playback stopped and an error dialog showed:

*Playback Error*
Could not read from resource.
[OK]

I would expect that Rhythmbox would be able to tell that the same iPod was plugged back in and resume playback from where it was paused.

In cases where this is not possible (for example, the song has been deleted off the iPod) Rhythmbox should not attempt to resume playback but should return to "stopped" mode when it detects that the same iPod has been plugged back in but the song is no longer available; it should do this at the time the iPod is plugged back in.
