Description Björn Lindqvist 2006-04-18 16:23:55 UTC
(This is a feature request and a bug I suppose)

1. Have a directory with a huge number of music files.
2. Right click on that directory and choose "Open with Totem".
3. Wait and wait and wait.

At step 3 totem freezes and appears to have crashed. In reality, it is just busy reading the directory structure but the GUI is frozen. It would be cool if instead Totem would start and display a dialog with a progress bar with the text "Reading music file..." or something. Then you would know it was busy working. You could also have a cancel button on the progress dialog.

If you use Totem 1.4.0 or the current CVS, you'll see the nice spinny hourglass cursor.
Comment 2 Björn Lindqvist 2006-04-18 17:25:27 UTC
While a spinning hourglass certainly is an improvement, I'd still opt for having a progress dialog and a way to cancel the operation.
