GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 331753
gnome-search-tool should make use of libextractor
Last modified: 2019-02-23 02:44:22 UTC
Need i say more ? Lets start making use of libextractor in gnome-search-tool http://gnunet.org/libextractor If there was a plugin interface to gnome-search-tool we could extend it features quite easily, but also no ;-(
I do not believe libextractor is part of the GNOME platform. You might want to checkout beagle instead.
Lots of external libraries that are used by GNOME apps are not 'part of the GNOME platform', so what's your point ? I'm guessing it's one of two: 1. Use beagle instead - which means to me that we should then RFC to remove gnome-search-tool since you are inherently implying that it's redundant and you/developers will not extend it's functionality. 2. We will not entertain gnome-search-tool changes, period. If someone submits a patch will it be considered ?
Yes, if someone submits a patch it will be considered.
gnome-search-tool is not under active development anymore. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gnome-search-tool/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather reactivate the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
