Description of Problem:
When I run 800x600 res, running ximian desktop 2, and I go to Tools ->
Preferences, I am unable to see the OK-Cancel buttons, and alt-dragging
doesn't let me "move" the window up high enough to see. Using default
settings for xd2 -haven't customized yet.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Open Evolution
2. Go to Tools Menu, then Preferences.
3. Try to see OK/Cancel buttons

Actual Results:
Unable to see OK button. Unable to see Cancel button. Other buttons??

Expected Results:
See OK and Cancel button, maybe Apply or something else.

How often does this happen?
Always in 800x600 with standard xd2 load on rh8.

this has come up from other customers too, any chance we can tweak
this in 1.4.x?

"I told you so" But nobody listened :)
Comment 4 Chris Wiegand 2003-06-16 15:08:56 UTC
Also noticed that a user CANNOT move a window "underneath" the menubar
at the top. (ie. I can't take any window and, using Alt-Drag, move it
so that the top of that window is in any way blocking the menubar,
even if I wanted to.) Perhaps make it so that the user can move it,
even if the menubar is set to AlwaysOnTop, so that the moved window is
"below" the menubar as far as Z-levels go? This bug also affects
Xinerama - on my 2nd screen, even though there's no menubar it still
reserved the entire area, so I can't even move the dialog to that
screen (and get around this problem...)

Comment 7 Not Zed 2005-08-22 04:08:32 UTC
we'd have to completely change the way the windows work to fix this - the HIG
means we have to blow up everything duplo-child-sized, which simply fails to scale.

Comment 8 André Klapper 2006-02-27 22:56:25 UTC
changing target milestone from ancient 2.3 to future.
Comment 9 Elijah Newren 2006-10-09 06:54:23 UTC
Should we make an 800x600 resolution tracker bug? Or are all these bugs actually talking about the same window? (Bug 350932, bug 239706, bug 244429, bug 267787, and bug 262546?)

I just fixed the preferences window within bug #267787, hence I'm closing this as a duplicate of it.
