Description Raphael Slinckx 2005-04-08 23:18:39 UTC
Sometimes I feel the need to add a random album to muine's playlist, because i
just can't choose one.

So i implemented this little hack, it adds a button in the AddWindow dialog,
labelled _Random with an icon looking similar to the queue icon, with an
additional "?" on it stolen from stock-question-dialog.

When you click that button, a random song/album is selected and queued in the
plylist. So if you want to queue three random albums, just click three times on
the button.

Please let me know if it's worth adding in cvs, and if not why ?

Neat hack. However, there are plans for a non-hacky random playback mode. I
still haven't gotten around to implementing any of those yet tough ..

Yeah, not a problem, at least it's available for those who can't wait, like me :)

If you need some help...

Subject: [PATCH] add random mode to muine

add a random button to both album and song windows, which
either queues a random album when pressing the button or
just selects an album, depending on whether the
/schemas/apps/muine/queue_random key is set or not.

Would you be interested in making a plugin out of this? I would very much like to keep vanilla Muine as simple as possible.
Comment 9 daniel g. siegel 2009-10-27 17:11:38 UTC
to be honest, i have quite no knowledge about c#, so this would be far over my head.
Comment 10 Akhil Laddha 2011-07-07 05:56:59 UTC
muine development has been stalled and it has been unmaintained for a few years now. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing all the bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development.
