Description Eugenia Loli-Queru 2005-04-07 08:26:38 UTC
By highlighting the active tiles it helps a lot the usability of the game. Some
might say it's cheating, that's why it would best if this would be optional. But
in any case, it would help a lot to be more satisfied about the game, and most
importantly, it would help people with eye problems.

Other information:
Here is the PDA game that does it by default, I played it the other night and it
was a wonderful addition to all other mahjongg games I ever played...

I think we will do something like this to accompany keyboard navigation.

Thanks for filing a bugzilla bug about this... The other mentions I've seen
have only been in Google searches or a Ubuntu bug,
https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2081 .

The problem is usually cited as lack of contrast among the various tile
heights. The two obvious ways to fix it, shadows or shading according to
height, have potential problems like excessive memory use at high
resolutions... Your suggested method would be great for keyboard selection and
is an effective workaround for those other methods.
