Description Marcel Tscherkasow 2005-03-21 07:45:20 UTC
Would be a nice functon, if it is possible to mark, select a bough ( may be of
an ERM ) and print out only this selection or to export only this selection.
Comment 1 Lars Clausen 2005-03-22 06:16:19 UTC
Indeed. It would just take an extension to the printing that loops over
selected objects rather than all objects. Not hard, but won't make it for 0.95.
Comment 2 Hugo Costelha 2006-08-29 15:59:18 UTC
Hi, just so I understand, in case we are exporting, if we export a selection (for instance to PDF), only the selection will be exported, right? So, the size of the outputed file (the PDF in this example) would be limited to the drawing size, and would not be an entire page, right?

I hope it is like this, since this is one of the features that Visio has, that I could only find in xFig yet (for Linux), and which, for me, is impossible to live without (that is way that, unfortunately, I am still sticked to xFig).

Regards.
Comment 3 Lars Clausen 2006-12-02 06:59:36 UTC
Unfortunately, it's not as simple as adding a button to the print dialog and if it is selected, just iterate over those objects. We also need to recalculate the sheet size, which is more tied up with the diagram than it might really have to be. Not likely to happen this version.

Some discussion of selection object requirements on the mailing list:
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/dia-list/2008-November/msg00068.html
But I don't think it should block a dia 0.97 release.
