Description Artem K. Jouravsky 2004-12-28 12:15:06 UTC
http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnumeric/doc/quick-data.html

this page contains two broken links
Comment 1 Adrian Custer 2005-01-10 18:05:53 UTC
This is due to the html generation breaking files apart one section deeper than
yelp does. All the sections without id="" tags are being generated incorrectly.
I'd be glad to work with whomever is doing the html generation / web site to
deal with this issue.

Right now the error is 403 forbidden which is not the 404 not found I'd expect
if the file didn't exist. Not sure if this is simply how the web site has been
setup.

I'll have to regenerate the web pages and figure out how to update the files on
the web site.

Rules are in
gnumeric/doc/gnumeric-doc.make

cd gnumeric/doc/C
make html

Then manually copy all the resulting pieces, cvs add them and list them in the
makefile.

Comment 4 Jody Goldberg 2006-10-28 17:17:58 UTC
Regenerated using the new gnome-doc-html and the default chunking level of 2 has fixed the website. However, the original problem presists.

Doing a 'make html' in gnumeric/doc/C
is roughly the equivalent of running the new gnome-doc-html utility with

   gnome-doc-html -d 3

Both of which lose some sections of the documentation. We would really like to have each function with it's docs in a distinct file rather than leaving them in large groups.

Any ideas ?
Comment 5 Jody Goldberg 2006-11-15 04:42:57 UTC
Turns out this was a problem with gnumeric's docs.
They were missing section ids in places.
It would have been nice to get a warning.
