GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 156019
gnome_segv vs SM
Last modified: 2006-08-05 13:32:34 UTC
If a session managed app (e.g. the panel) crashes, gnome_segv brings up the same dialog it always shows, offering to restart the app. That is futile if the app is set to be restarted immediately be the session manager (like the panel). The instance started by gnome_segv and the one started by the session manager get into a fight. I think the ideal behaviour would be for gnome_segv to be clever enough to figure out that the app is session managed (and its restart mode) and if it is restart immediately it shouldn't show the "Restart" button, but rather a note explaining that the app will be restarted automatically.

This is no longer relevant now, since gnome_segv is no longer used.
