GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 98938
Cut/Copy/Paste doesn't work in list view renaming mode
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
I often find myself in a situation where I have to rename loads of files from "track1.ogg", "track2.ogg" to "01 -- Artist Name -- Song Name.ogg" , "02 -- Artist Name -- Song Name.ogg" (I have a big music collection). In explorer I can press F2 to get it to rename a file and then highlight " -- Artist Name -- " and press ^C, then when I have to rename "track3.ogg" I can press F2, Del, 0, 2, ^V S, o, n... (You see the point?). I guess this is due to the use of components (the text under the icon's seems non-standard as opposed to standard gnome). I don't know if many other people do this trick but it seems really handy to me.
Cut/Copy/Paste verified working in nautilus 2.1
Still broken in list view (Debian Testing with Unstable GNOME)

Not an enhancement, but brokenness in my opinion - especially as it works as expected in the icon view. Adjusting fields accordingly.
Thanks for your bug report. This bug has been fixed in CVS on 2004-10-11.
