Unfortunally this leads to an endless loop. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. create a new user 2. login and start gnome 3. make the panel vertical 4. restart the gnome session 5. panel crashes during startup 6. goto 5 Actual Results: "Application gnome-panel (process ....) has crashed due a fatal error. Expected Results: a working panel :-) How often does this happen? regulary Additional Information: redhat linux i386, currently updated from 7.3 to 8.0 this is the error message from gnome-panel: system-tray-applet-ERROR **: file obox.c: line 107 (get_class): should not be reached aborting...
