Crash closing preferences dialog box
Last modified: 2012-01-31 23:30:27 UTC
Package: gnome-games Severity: major Version: 2.0.3 Synopsis: Crash closing preferences dialog box Bugzilla-Product: gnome-games Bugzilla-Component: gnome-stones BugBuddy-GnomeVersion: 2.0 (2.0.3) Description: Description of Problem: Gnome-Stones crashes (Segmentation Fault) when closing the preferences dialog box. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Open Gnome-Stones 2. Click Settings menu, click Preferences 3. Click Close button Actual Results: It crashes. Expected Results: It should close the dialog box and allow you to play. How often does this happen? Every time I close the preferences dialog box Additional Information: I'm running Gnome-Stones 2.0.3 from Redhat Linux 8.0 under Gnome and the Bluecurve theme. Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/gnome-stones' ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2002-10-07 12:21 ------- The original reporter (sbiber@optushome.com.au) of this bug does not have an account here. Confirmed here: I get this on gnome-games-2.0.3 on RH 8.0. Interesting wrinkle: the music which started up is still playing even though the game has crashed. Make it stop!
Created attachment 11562 [details] probably useless stack trace from gdb (no debugging symbols)
Created attachment 11739 [details] more useful stack trace
I get this crash a different way, same thing probably. I have to start a game, open prefs, close prefs, the game still goes on, try to open it agin, crash.
marking high/critical (as with all crash bugs) and adding GNOME2 and bug_squad keywords.
Apologies for the spam- I'm removing 'bugsquad' from some keywords via the web interface. This is a one-time only thing before I re-add bugsquad via the SQL interface, which will generate no mail. Apologies again.
Is this replicatable on gnome-games 2.1.x?

No
Why is this bug closed?
Probably because it's fixed in the latest GNOME Games releases. It probably should have been resolved as fixed, but that didn't seem to happen.
This bug is being reassigned to the "general" component so we can close the gnome-stones bugzilla component. Apologies for the mass email!
