Login Gnome env. 1. Click terminal icon on panel and open gnome-terminal. --> The title bar is blue. It mean the gnome-terminal have IM focus 2. Click [Applications] on panel and show menu. 3. Click [Applications] on panel and close menu. --> No one have IM focus. 4. Type 'aaaaa' and return. --> It invoke gnome-terminal. The launcher(the last application launched from the panel) on the panel gets focus when we click on the panel. Hence the problem. Is this the side effect of giving focus to objects when added on to the panel.? I am not sure. Moving the bug to gnome-panel for the moment. CC'ing Padriag for his thoughts.
Yeah. The launcher has focus, so hitting return invokes the launcher, so NOTABUG. The confusion here is that the user may not be used to the panel taking focus at all ...
