Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Tested on Gnome 2.0 Solaris sparc 8 (Solaris Multihead) Source Details : nautiuls - branch multihead by Aug 6 13:26:00 BST 2002 Version :2.0.3 Some desktop preferences capplets are not working properly. Configure a multihead server with two screens on left(scr0) and right (scr1). I) 1. Invoke any GNOME application say gnome-calculator, in both scr1 and src2. 2. Select 'Applications->Desktop Preferences->Font’, the 'Font Preferences’ window pops up. 3. Change the ‘Application font' The changed font getting reflected only the applications in first screen (src0) II) 1. Invoke 'Theme Preferences’ window and change the theme. The changed theme is getting reflected only in first screen (src0) III) 1 . Keyboard Shortcuts such as 'Take a screen shot of the window -Alt+Print', 'Display 'run' dialogue - Alt+F2, 'Popup the panel menu- Alt+F1 ' are not working in second screen.
Problem should be on control center capplet rather than metacity?!
Most likely all of these are problems in gtk's multihead stuff, not the control-center capplet or metacity. Owen, is this correct?
Erwann: is this a multihead gtk thing?
gnome-settings-daemon bug; it needs to set the XSETTINGS on all screens.
I had a feeling that was it. control center will need a fair amount of simple tweaking to convert all the places that access just the default display.
Tested on beta 2 build 4 . Still i am able to observe the 'Font' problem. Please refer bug #91962 for 'Theme Preferences’ and bug #91962 for 'Keyboard shortcuts' .
Sorry , Please refer bug #91962 for 'Theme Preferences’ and bug #91963 for 'Keyboard shortcuts' .
