I installed the mr-project package from red-carpet, and basically all
entries in my panel menu went away. Restart gnome-panel and all is well and
good, including the mrproject entry.

This is fixed in CVS.  Please try creating/deleting some desktop
entries  and reopen if you see anything unexpected.
