Description gsgatlin 2002-07-10 20:49:28 UTC
Greetings,

Various apps that use gconf are not working well with network file systems
like AFS. I didn't see a bug report filed on this problem so I just
wanted to file a report. We also have an environment where people
can be logged into more than one workstation at a time which also causes
some problems. We are using OpenAFS with TRANARC's AFS on the backend
running on Solaris servers.

It's not network file systems (NFS works) but OpenAFS specifically;
its file locking is totally, totally broken.

http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=84101 is somewhat relevant.

See http://www.gnome.org/projects/gconf/ for the scoop on multiple logins.
