Description mawarkus 2002-07-02 16:47:05 UTC
Package: gnome-panel
Severity: normal
Version: 2.0.1
Synopsis: Menu panel can't be moved
Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel
Bugzilla-Component: Panel

Description:
This doesn't bother me because I know about the nature of the menu
panel. However, several new GNOME 2.0 users complain about not being
able to move the menu panel like a regular edge panel. I've now read at
least two news articles on major news sites spending a lot of words on
criticising that behaviour.

IMHO, middle-click-dragging the menu panel should convert it into a
functionally equivalent edge panel and move it, flagged in a way that
dragging it back to the upper edge of the screen will reconvert it into
a menu panel. I, personally, don't crave for that feature but I'd
consider it useful and logical.
