Description Calum Benson 2002-06-17 16:28:37 UTC
The following issues came out of the recent ui-review and are recommended
for fixing prior to GNOME 2.0.1:

- s/Sound preferences/Sound Preferences in title

General tab:

- s/Enable sound server at startup/Enable sound server
- window needs default icon
- set default button to 'Close'

Sound events tab:

- Frame is uneccessary, remove
- Make tree columns resizable
- s/File to play/Sound File
- List needs label 'Sound:' and mnemonic
- Tooltips on the treeview should show full path if clipped
- Text entry should have label 'Sound file' and mnemonic - above text entry
to allow field to be wider?
- Move 'Play' button to right of 'Browse' button

Adding keywords to all ui-review bugs in one mass change, sorry for the spam. It
would be very nice if the folks doing UI review stuff would be sure to add
'PATCH' to the bugs that have those. I'm (tentatively) not marking these 'high'
but the release team [having gotten approval from the docs and i18n people]
would like to see these in ASAP on the 2.0.1 branches, so that i18n folks can
start translating at their convenience.

Comment 4 Glynn Foster 2002-07-01 12:39:19 UTC
Okay, this one is done...we have 1 outstanding issue....we can't
seemingly have tooltips on the treeview.
Comment 5 Luis Villa 2002-07-02 01:23:10 UTC
Marking normal/minor, then, unless anyone objects.
Comment 6 Luis Villa 2002-07-02 01:24:01 UTC
Oh, and retitling.
Comment 7 Glynn Foster 2002-07-02 15:22:00 UTC
hum, someone pointed out a mail from gtk-list saying that you can't
physically have tooltips on a treeview...can someone confirm?
Comment 8 Jonathan Blandford 2002-07-18 12:34:16 UTC
It's certainly possible to have tooltips on the tree view. It's just
hard right now. I'd punt 'til later. I want to add native tooltip
support to the tree, and I suspect this issue isn't worth tackling
until that works.
Comment 9 Kjartan Maraas 2002-10-19 14:38:29 UTC
Is any of this going in for later 2.0.x releases? Or should we make
sure it's commited against the 2.1.x series?
Comment 10 Luis Villa 2002-11-07 14:39:16 UTC
SPAM as discussed last night. Search for 'SPAM as discussed last night' to catch
these all and delete them. :)
