Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. login to Gnome 2
2. start desktop (Nautilus)
3. start several windows in quick sucession

Actual Results:
windows either lock up or are hesitant to close

Expected Results:

windows should not "seize up" or take a long time to close.
How often does this happen?

constantly (severl times per hour)

Additional Information:

Machine is AMD Athlon 1.3 Gb, 512 Mb RAM, kernel (Red-Hat) 2.4.28-4
system is NOT overclocked.
