Launcher from desktop crashes.

Trying on 29th build on Solaris. Right click on the desktop, click on "new launcher". This has already been fixed in CVS but not in Sun's builds; reassigning this to dave so that he can prepare a sun_patch for it.
I was wrong, this hadn't been fixed in cvs. I committed a fix, and added a patch to sun-patches.
