GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 81437
Panel crashes when GTK theme engine is changed
Last modified: 2015-03-24 13:00:31 UTC
To reproduce, just change between any two themes that don't use the same theme engine (for example, the default and metal, or a pixmap theme and crux). The panel crashes, and is restarted by the session manager.
Trace would (as always) be nice :)
To reproduce, with gnome-panel running, start a new "gnome-panel" from the commandline. This will produce a "detected a pnel already running, will now exit" message, but the new panel doesn't exit. Then, if you try to change theme from "Default" to "Metal", you'll get a crash on the newly started panel. ]Of course, this may be unrelated, but it sounds like the same bug]
Created attachment 8556 [details] a trace for the crash
This was an error in the dialog that says there is an instance already running. should be now fixed on cvs
Not fixed, just did a rebuild from CVS. Soren's bug may not be the same thing. I'm not launching multiple panels and never see the "multiple panels launched" message. Changing theme engines still causes a crash.
can you get a trace for the crash?
#82308 has a trace *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 82308 ***
