Description martinm 2002-05-02 20:13:16 UTC
I can't use the text tool.
When I choose, for example the following font in the text insertion
dialog:

helvetica, iso8859-15: medium, Size: 14 Pixels

the font preview is correct, buf if I click on OK, I get:
Font '-adobe-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-42-*-*-*-p-*-iso8859-15' not
found. In fact, the font size argument in the pixel specification is
always multiplied by three, if I select 12 pixel size, there is a 36 in
the error message, end so an.

According to xfontsel, the fonts are installed correctly and available in
the sizes I can select in the GIMP dialog. But of course, if Gimp
multiplies the font size by three, it can't find the fonts.

This problem has already been reported in bug #58848. So far, I have
only seen these reports for SuSE Linux 7.2 or 7.3. This might be a
distribution-specific problem.
