Mark, is this related to bug 81304 or bug 79628?
The bactrace really isn't that helpful. I also suspect that this is the panel-menu applet rather than the menu panel, because I don't think we use the word 'Workspaces' in the menu panel. Could you provide more info, does it still happen with newer versions etc.
Is it still simulatable with latest sources.
