GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 79641
Error when I try to add a launcher
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
When I try to add a launcher for the Terminal to the menu panel, I get a complaint about a missing file. I have attached a screen shot.
Created attachment 7892 [details] Screenshot of the error
Reassigning to gnome-panel. [Sorry for the 1.4<->2.0 confusion.] This would be great for 2.0.0, guys, but without duplication I can't really put it on 2.0.0 at this point. Wipro, can you duplicate?
Here we are not able to reproduce this bug. Its working fine here
I forgot to mention the version info. I have tested on Solaris 2.8 and panel version is 1.5.19.
Okay I fixed this. The problem only occurs for Solaris users with an NFS mounted homedir. mkdir(2) gets an ENOSYS from NFS instead of EEXIST for a dir that already exists. Fix is in cvs HEAD
Fixed as per Stephen's comments.
It is readily reproducible on my end. I updated to the 5/1/02 nightly build (internal to Sun) and now I can add the launcher, but I still get the error and have to click "OK". If you have anybody internal to Sun I will be happy to give them a login to my system, so that they can see for themselves.
My version is 1.5.18 and that is with the nightly build from yesterday. I'm not sure how to get this new version.
Oops, I see that you fixed this. I was dealing with my emails one at a time. I will close the bug again. :)
Closing as suggested above.
