Description Thomas Vander Stichele 2002-04-22 10:24:53 UTC
The sliding panel (my favourite) has a few usability problems.
1) I would like an option where you can have it stay automatically centered
"in the middle" at the bottom. At this moment you can drag it if you are
lucky enough to have the arrows still enabled, or adjust the offset value
manually.
IMO, this should even be the default behaviour - who wants to set the
offset value manually anyway ? Just calculate offset as (DESKTOP_WIDTH -
PANEL_WIDTH) / 2
2) I hate the arrows on the side, but I can't hide them since that leaves
me with no way to right-click the panel. It would be great if, now that
menus can be merged, the panel menu was added by default to every clickable
thingy in the panel. and I do mean every ;) It would make sense from a
user's point of view. Right now I'm stuck with those ugly hide arrows,
which I don't use (my sliding panel is set to autohide, so I don't need
them for hiding) and which I only use for another purpose than they are
intended for, namely getting context on the panel to add stuff. ;)

3) please someone help me remove my swallowed app added by accident ;) this
last one can safely be ignored, one day I will get up the courage to
recreate my sliding panel from scratch.
