Description shark28_6 2002-04-22 01:09:35 UTC
It would be nice if there was an option which would make the lines drawn by
the pen, pencil, or ink tools be "smoothed".

By smoothed, I mean that any small bumpiness in the line would be removed.
I believe Macromedia Flash (the program that creates flash files, not the
browser plugin) does this... the reason they do it is probably largly
because a smooth line is easier to define with vectors. The reason I think
GIMP should be able to do it is because people want to be able to draw
smooth lines and don't intend to draw bumpy lines. If this is unclear, I'd
be happy to attach a couple screen shots.

A good place for this preference looks like File>Preferences>Interface>Tool
Options.

Although the description is a bit different, the same feature was
already requested by Roy Katz in bug #55366.
