and thus doesnt compile - 
standard method around this seems to be a configure check - which results
in config.h having #define socklen_t size_t - if it fails.

Low priority, though... probably what I should set the rest as too.
<sigh> trying to be consistent with issues like OSF/1 isn't easy :)
