Description Murray Cumming 2002-04-20 15:50:24 UTC
The customize/bindings/"Move window interactively" alt-move binding should
be off by default. It's prevents anything from using the alt key for
anything else anywhere, which is excessive. Particularly for a feature
which most newbies (e.g. me) will never even know exists.

The is preventing sensible use of modifier keys in Nautilus, and apparently
in GIMP too.

Similar bug filed for metacity: #79315
Comment 2 John Harper 2002-04-23 07:35:45 UTC
I fail to see how it prevents anything else using the Alt key "for
anything else anywhere"
Comment 3 Murray Cumming 2002-04-23 10:03:17 UTC
OK, it prevents use of the Alt key with mouse button 1. Specifically
it prevents use of alt-double-click in Nautilus.
Comment 4 Murray Cumming 2004-03-20 20:01:18 UTC
I'm closing this for now. I do think it's a bit mean of metacity to
take alt-mouse-1, but we no longer specifically need it for nautilus.
