Translations are not needed

I know that gnome-backgrounds maintainers are aware, but I’m filing it to attract developer attention. Background names are not used anywhere in GNOME, so translators are wasting time on them. Someone needs to rip i18n infrastructure from gnome-backgrounds wholesale.
Piotr, do you think we should remove gnome-backgrounds from l10n.gnome.org?
We could, even though I’d prefer removing translations first. This is affecting more modules, so I reported it as bug #794702.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).
