RFE: save overwrite prompt
Last modified: 2017-12-06 16:52:27 UTC
$ rpm -qa \*simple-scan\* simple-scan-3.12.2-1.el7.x86_64 Love the utility! Would you please consider adding an overwrite prompt when pressing the Save icon if the file already exists? I have wiped out previous work by accidentally pressing "save", not realizing it would automatically over write and had to redo the previous project. Many thanks, -T
Thanks for taking the time to report this. However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore by GNOME developers. GNOME developers are no longer working on that version, so unfortunately there will not be any bug fixes by GNOME developers for the version that you use. By upgrading to a newer version of GNOME you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of GNOME. Please feel free to reopen this bug report if the problem still occurs with a recent version of GNOME, or feel free to report this bug in the bug tracking system of your Linux distribution if your distribution still supports the version that you are using.
Hi Andre, This is a YUGE issue with RHEL and clones. The code is almost unmaintained. I asked them to upgrade anyway: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1509490 Question: have all the issue I asked about been resolved on the latest version? If not, would you please reopen this bug for the latest version? Many thanks, -T
Created a virtual machine of (bleeding edge) Fedora 27 (beta) with simple-scan 3.26.1. The behaviour I am describing has not changed from 3.12.2 to 3.26.1. So I am reopening this request for enhancement and changing the revision to 3.26.x.
