"Default Applications" doesn't seem to have the right icon assigned

I already presented this issue to the Solus OS and Papirus icon theme team and was told by both that they are not responsible for this:

https://dev.solus-project.com/T4897
https://github.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-icon-theme

Take a look at the screenshot and see for yourself that the icon for "Default Applications" is out of place in between the other apps.

This happened after updating to GNOME 3.26 (there was no dedicated app for the default applications before that.)

Except that's not what GNOME 3.26 looks like by default. See the attached screenshot from Fedora 27 (pre-release) with the default Adwaita theme. (It looks basically the same with Ubuntu 17.10 and its default icons.)

Even if you delete the NoDisplay=true from /usr/share/applications/gnome-default-apps-panel.desktop which isn't recommend, it simply shows a bigger yellow star icon.

My opinion is that this is indeed a bug in your theme for using a symbolic (monochrome) icon to represent the 'starred' icon instead of just for 'starred-symbolic'

Thank you very much for your input, I reported your commentary to the Papirus icon theme team and they indeed reopened the issue and are going to fix this now on their side.
Comment 3 varlesh 2017-11-01 09:34:33 UTC
Why you use status icon name "starred" for desktop icon?
I think will be better use another name:
"gnome-settings-default-applications"
or
"preferences-desktop-default-applications"
Comment 4 André Klapper 2019-02-22 04:28:15 UTC
According to comment 2 the issue is in a custom theme, hence closing as NOTGNOME.

varlesh: If comment 3 is still an issue in GNOME 3.30 or newer, please report a separate bug in https://gitlab.gnome.org - thanks a lot!
