Initially Vlc is running then the vlc sound is muted.
Totem is launched but there is no sound.
The vlc sound is unmuted but there is no totem sound.

Muting or not the vlc sound control shall not mute the totem sound.

I'm pretty certain that's because vlc changes the system volume, instead of an application volume. You can double-check this by changing the volume with the Sound settings opened, or pavucontrol.

Reopen if that's not the case.

Hi,
If I click on the pavucontrol gui I hear one beep but there is no totem sound.
AlsaMixer v1.0.28 shows that master and speaker are operational.

Dear maintener,
I installed the Pavucontrol package.
The totem mute was on.
Now all is ok.
