This appears to be a regression in Fedora 26, behavior didn't occur in Fedora 25.

I've already filed bugs against gvfs and gsd for their roles in this same thing, which - I don't know why this is happening all at once in just Fedora 26, and if there's some commonality here. Those are Bug #781867 and Bug #781868.
