Description calinuswork 2017-04-08 16:57:12 UTC
On wayland the keyboard is not grabbed by the guest.

This is rather annoying because pressing alt+f4 will close the boxes app.

This problem does not seem to be present when running under X.
Comment 1 Olivier Fourdan 2017-05-02 13:32:43 UTC
That's not a gnome-boxes issue actually, there is no grab on Wayland...

But there is an alternative solution being discussed, in the form of a protocol to let apps disable the compositor own shortcuts, precisely for this use case.

Can you please give me a link to this discussion so I can follow along?

Thank you.

Thanks, shall this issue be closed?
Comment 5 Olivier Fourdan 2017-05-02 15:43:58 UTC
FWIW, I think we should keep it open, the problem is being worked on but it's still there.
Comment 6 Jeremy Bicha 2017-09-21 19:36:02 UTC
Has this been fixed in GNOME 3.26?
Comment 7 Olivier Fourdan 2017-09-22 06:41:11 UTC
It should, with the addition of keyboard shortcut inhibitor protocol.
