GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 78012
The selected font does not come up on the open application windows after the font is selected.
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
Reproducibility: Always Version : 1.99.6 Tested on Solaris 2.9 64 bit platform. Procedure: 1. Start up Gnome control center. Double click on the option 'Preferences: Font' to open the Font preferences dialog window. 2. Click on the font button to open the font selection window and select an font, its style and size. The font preview is displayed in the preview box. Click on the 'OK' button. 3. The open application's title bar texts are supposed to change according to the selected font but no change is visible.
Fairly major if this doesn't work. That said, the current CVS version of the capplet specifically says 'this doesn't work' so maybe it's not possible on all platforms?

The claim is that "The open application's title bar texts are supposed to change according to the selected font but no change is visible." I read that as a Sawfish bug, though I suppose one could also argue that it is the intended behavior of each Sawfish theme to hard-wire its own theme-specific font instead of relying on the control panel.
Oh, good catch, Ben. Reassigning to sawfish but yes, this is probably a sawfish issue.
nothing to do with me whoever wrote this new gnome font preferences dialog should fix it

The problem seems fixed in the beta 2 build. Hence closing the bug.
