GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 777612
Halos with the Gaussian blur plugin
Last modified: 2017-02-27 19:03:25 UTC
Created attachment 343983 [details] Gaussian blur filter preview and final result In some cases the Gaussian blur plugin produces some halos that should not be there. Halos are not shown in preview, but they are when the filter is applied (see the attached screenshots).
I am not able to reproduce this, which version of GIMP are you using (this is more likely a GIMP problem than a GEGL problem, since the layer/blend modes also involved in applying filters have been under rework during the last couple of weeks).
Is this on a layer or on a channel or on a mask. Also, what kind of image is it?
Sorry that I did not mention it earlier: it is on a mask in an 8-bit grayscale image. I have experienced it also on 16 bit color and grayscale images in the last weeks. The result of the attachment has been obtained with the latest git pulls of GEGL, BABL and GIMP, but the problem has been around for weeks, just coming and going (sometimes re-opening GIMP seems to make the problem disappear, but I cannot tell that for sure at the moment).
I have tried right now and the problem does not seem to occur on a layer, just on masks. To double check, I tried to re-apply gaussian blur on the mask and it is still there.
