Description Mohammed Sadiq 2017-01-19 10:54:39 UTC
If the notification from private chats are dismissed from gnome-shell, the chat window belonging to the notification goes read-only. Also, the next message received in the same window is not shown in polari (but a shell notification of the message is shown).

Eg:
1. some_nick sent me a private chat "hi"
2. I (sadiq) switched to my polari instance and clicked some_nick tab, and focused some other app (I didn't dismiss the notification)
3. some_nick sent me "Hello"
4. I dismissed the gnome shell notification I received.
Result: some_nick tab in polari went gray (read only)
5. some_nick sent me "Hello again"
Result: I get a shell notification "Hello again". But it is not present in polari.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Polari, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/polari/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
