Description Serge Gavrilov 2016-12-05 13:57:10 UTC
After upgrade from 3.20 to 3.22 mapping of wacom tablet to monitor does not work anymore.

The tablet is Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5.

I have dual monitor configuration. The tablet is always mapped to both monitors independently from settings in control center.

The system is gentoo ~amd64.

Is this with X11 or wayland? If this is Wayland it's a known issue, fixed by the mutter patches in https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=774115

X11.

The video driver is nvidia blob. This could be important since

xsetwacom set "Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5 Pen stylus" MapToOutput DVI-I-2

does not work (DVI-I-2 is the first monitor), but

xsetwacom set "Wacom Bamboo 2FG 4x5 Pen stylus" MapToOutput HEAD-0

works.

Are there any chance to fix this?

Hi Carlos! :-)

We are in the same case here. Just updated from Fedora 23 to 25 and "Map to single monitor" stopped working.
This is also GNOME on X11 since I was told GNOME on Wayland won't work with Nvidia proprietary drivers (and indeed GNOME doesn't start anymore with Wayland since we installed the drivers).

I took on me to set the status to "major" since this can be quite a serious blocker to graphics people with tablets. I hope that's ok.

Turns out that this was fixed in master by the patch at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=338893&action=diff

I've backported this patch to mutter's gnome-3-22 branch.
