GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 774161
file-pdf-load crashes in lcms when opening PDF with color profile
Last modified: 2018-05-24 17:09:59 UTC
Created attachment 339412 [details] screenshot of info dialog of pdf failed to open a pdf created on OS X Sierra (via the print dialog) with Excel 2011 is not possible to open, other / older pdf are no problem to open. Data about the pdf -> see screenshot. Same error on OS X Sierra with Gimp 2.8.18 and on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS with Gimp 2.8.16. Please feel free to ask for more information.
This is handled completely in GTK+, reassigning. You say "older pdf are no problem to open". Does this mean that you previously printed to PDF with older GIMP versions and it worked fine?
Hi Thomas, were you trying to open the PDF or print it? Also, the PDF itself would help to diagnose problem, could you attach it here? (or create a PDF which reproduce the problem and does not contain any personal data?)
Reading the report again, I'm not sure if GTK+ is the right product at all. Thomas, how exactly did you create the PDF? I was under the impression via the "print to PDF" in GIMP's print dialog, but I think you meant the Excel 2011 print dialog.
Created attachment 339531 [details] created with Ecel 2011 on Mac OS Sierra all pdf - Viewers i found were able to open this file, but gimp failed to open it.
Created attachment 339532 [details] this pdf gimp opens whitout any trouble this pdf gimp opens whitout any trouble
Thanks, so GTK+ is indeed wrong :)
Crashes in the middle of libpoppler, which we use to render PDF.
I have opened a bug against poppler: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98678
*** Bug 774823 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
The poppler bug is fixed, and we need to depend on at least poppler-0.50 as soon as we can. Debian testing is currently at poppler-0.48.
