Description Jeremy Bicha 2016-08-15 19:30:29 UTC
Nautilus used to have Send via Bluetooth capability but this was removed. It seems a pretty useful feature so it would be great to have this back in some form.

https://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus-sendto/commit/?id=7933c01

https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-bluetooth/commit/?id=71ea732

Note that there is a 'bluetooth-sendto' tool provided by gnome-bluetooth; it just needs integration with nautilus.

afaik the plan is to use portals for that so the same "send to..." menu item can point to different destinations.

If the plan is something in short term, I guess an extension like sending to email would be enough, so distributions can choose if providing it by default or not.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
