GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 768342
"Stroke Selection..." produce an ugly stroke when using it with a circle selection
Last modified: 2016-07-04 12:06:27 UTC
Created attachment 330815 [details] Results from various methods to create a circle stroke Steps to reproduce: 1. Use "Ellipse Select Tool" to create a circular selection. 2. From the menu bar, select "Edit > Stroke Selection...". 3. Try either "Stroke line" or "Stroke with a paint tool". 4. Evaluate the result. Actual results: (See figure 1, 2 in ugly-stroke-selection.png) - [figure 1] Solid color + Antialiasing + Line width: 6px = A circle stroke that wasn't antialiased at all (the results were the same whether I enabled antialiasing or not - should I open a separate bug report?). Additionally, the width of the circle is not regularly - please notice the top/bottom/left/right part of the stroke, it is thinner than the rest of the circle. - [figure 2] Paintbrush with Size: 10, Radius: 6, Hardness: 1 and Spacing: 1 = A circle stroke similar to figure 1, but was antialiased. Expected results: (See figure 3 in ugly-stroke-selection.png) - [figure 3] Best result so far. Created by making a circular selection, shrink the selection then press delete button on the keyboard. P.S. Pardon my poor English.
The ellipse is in fact a line along pixel boundaries, it cannot be an ellipse. This is a duplicate of some bug but I fail to find it.
