GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 766448
Allow specifying music file in parameters
Last modified: 2018-01-10 14:53:07 UTC
Currently, gnome-music does not allow specifying a music file in the command line parameters like: gnome-music ~/Music/SomeMusic.ogg Adding such an option should also help it in becoming the default Music app (as opposed to Rythmbox) since this would add the ability to right-click and play sound/music files from a file manager.
The gnome-music model is not really like that, it only plays stuff from ~/Music. A file manager could be pointing anywhere. It would be confusing.
But maybe it should offer to import it or something, this should really be discussed with some of the designers of the gnome applications suite.
