Description Andy Tucker 2002-03-26 15:23:50 UTC
gnumeric 1.0.5 on a RH 7.1 i686 box looses all cell comments when
an MS Excel 97+ spreadsheet is imported/opened. If the xls file is in
Excel 5.0 format comments survive.
Comment 1 Andreas J. Guelzow 2002-04-15 15:44:08 UTC
Gnumeric supports the XL95 format. While it would be nice to handle
the XL97 format in all its glory, this is definitely not critical.

changed severity to enhancement
Comment 2 Jody Goldberg 2002-04-15 16:39:36 UTC
That is not exactly true.
We read all formats, we currently only support _writing_ XL95.
However, as of XL97 the format for some objects (noteable comments and sheet
objects changed). They are also no longer documented. We could probably
support this pretty easilily is someone wanted to look at it.
