GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 764560
"Trail of old cursors" when using Vim on gnome-terminal 3.20
Last modified: 2016-04-04 04:04:33 UTC
Created attachment 325278 [details] Screenshot The following has started happening with Gnome Terminal 3.20. Downgrading vte and gnome-terminal to 3.18 works around the issue for me for now. When I use Vim, moving the cursor will frequently result in cursor "leftovers", as seen in the attached screenshot. It's also reasonably frequent, although I'm not sure I can provide a pattern of keystrokes that will reliably produce this. The screenshot took me about 10 seconds of typing random stuff to produce. --------------------- -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.5.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.utf8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages gnome-terminal depends on: ii dconf-gsettings-backend [gsettings-backend] 0.24.0-2 ii gconf-service 3.2.6-3 ii gnome-terminal-data 3.20.0-2 ii gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.20.0-1 ii libatk1.0-0 2.18.0-1 ii libc6 2.22-5 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.14.6-1 ii libcairo2 1.14.6-1 ii libdconf1 0.24.0-2 ii libgconf-2-4 3.2.6-3 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.33.2-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.48.0-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.20.0-1 ii libnautilus-extension1a 3.18.5-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.38.1-1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.38.1-1 ii libuuid1 2.27.1-6 ii libvte-2.91-0 0.44.0-2 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.3-1 Versions of packages gnome-terminal recommends: ii dbus-x11 1.10.8-1 ii gvfs 1.27.92-1 ii yelp 3.16.1-1 gnome-terminal suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
I should add that gnome-terminal with gtk+-3.20 is fine.
