GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 764336
EasyTAG opens when attempting to 'show in folder' from Chrome
Last modified: 2016-03-30 10:15:24 UTC
Chrome seems to confuse easytag for a file browser and launches an instance of easytag instead of nautilus when 'show in folder' is selected after downloading a file. Steps to cause problem: Download arbitrary file. Select 'show in folder' either in the downloads page or from the bottom downloads bar. Behavior: Easy tag opens and begins scanning music directory. Expected Behavior: Nautilus opens to the directory containing the downloaded file. Computer setup:Arch Linux, Gnome 3.20, Chromium 49.0.2623.108, EasyTAG 2.4.2
Thanks for reporting this bug. There has been discussion about this previously, which can be found in the duplicate bug. In summary, the desktop entry specification does not provide a way to give priorities to MIME-type handling, so it is implementation-defined. Your implementation probably sets a newly-installed desktop file to be the primary handler of a MIME-type (in this case directory handling). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 694358 ***
