Happens about 50% of the time. When I rewind again, the subtitles usually reappear.

Will really need more information than that. Like, the versions of Totem and GStreamer used.

"G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all totem" didn't print anything interesting.
I uploaded the output of "GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 GST_DEBUG=*:2 totem". It's the attachment above.

As GStreamer is the one handling the subtitles, reassigning.

Note that it could very well be a problem with clutter-gst, which I believe has some code to display subtitles itself.
