GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 759536
Provide a way to hide Switcher buttons
Last modified: 2016-01-13 16:05:52 UTC
Would be nice to have a way, for the user, to select only the switcher items that make sense for his/her use case. An example could be only showing "Mail" and "Calendar" instead of having "Mail", "Calendar", "Contacts", "Tasks" and "Memos" in a case where the last 3 are never used.
Hmm, where such option would be? One more gsettings hidden option with a list of "disallowed" buttons in the switcher, with the default to disallow none?

View -> Switcher Appearance -> Edit ... and then a simple List where you could select in a checkbox which are the items you want to see. But if you prefer a hidden gsettings it may work as well.
Milan and I talked about this issue on IRC Yesterday. As a first step (and maybe last, mainly because there are no duplicates of this bug) a hidden gsettings option is the preferable way to go. An UI can be added later if there is some need for it.
For master only, due to new translatable strings in the settings. The key is org.gnome.evolution.shell buttons-hide and contains the names in the description. Created commit c617cd9 in evo master (3.19.4+)
