Gnome Beta 2 was built on a Solaris 8 (32 bit) sun sparc machine.

Description: 
The cursor mark remains in the last line when the cursor is moved up
using the Up-Arrow key.

Steps:
open a new file
Create few blank lines by pressing "Enter" key 
Move up the file using the "Up-Arrow" key
The cursor mark still remains in the last blank line.

This is a known GtkTextView problem.
