GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 758581
Error when trying to connect to Google online account.
Last modified: 2015-11-24 10:58:29 UTC
On trying to connect to my Google online account, I received the following error message: Failed to connect address book 'Google : Barry' The requested resource was not found: https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/AuthForInstalledApps On checking the above URL, I found this: "Important: ClientLogin has been officially deprecated since April 20, 2012 and is now no longer available. Requests to ClientLogin will fail with a HTTP 404 response. We encourage you to migrate to OAuth 2.0 as soon as possible". OAuth 2.0 is described at: https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/OAuth2 This has been reported as Ubuntu bug #1519098
Thanks for a bug report. This is a known issue, and searching for "AuthForInstalledApps" (quotes for clarity only) in this bugzilla gives several already addressed bug reports. See the bug #751979 for the way to make it working with evolution 3.18.x and earlier. Bug #749974 added OAuth2 directly into the Evolution(-data-server), no need for GNOME Online Accounts. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 751979 ***
